Dear friends, today I want to tell you about my absolute favorite restaurant for a dinner on a special occasion. In fact, it’s not just a restaurant, but the most successful Italian luxury restaurant chain. They have locations in Milan, on the rooftop of the Cheval Blanc hotel in Paris, a beach cafe in the chicest Paraggi, and in the heart of St. Moritz.
We’re talking about Langosteria. Everything here is wonderful: the interior, the style, the service, and of course, the signature Mediterranean cuisine.
The atmosphere is the most cosmopolitan of all the restaurants in Milan, with a high-level clientele that you can feel right away. Whether you’re dressed up or in casual attire, you’ll feel right at home – there are very few places of this caliber in Milan, so spoiled visitors come here for all sorts of reasons.
Living here and constantly trying different new places due to my professional interests, I always save Langosteria for special occasions. You can confidently choose any dish from the menu – everything is delicious. But make sure you don’t miss the seabass sashimi with jalapeno sauce and the Catalan-style crab, served shelled.
Langosteria Café is my favorite restaurant of the chain with its central bar counter, less formal atmosphere, and a young, fashionable crowd.
Langosteria Bistrot is next on the list. Its terrace in summer is very romantic and intimate.
Langosteria, the most famous, original one, goes the last in my personal rating due to a more “grown-up” atmosphere.
Prices here are high for Milan, but compared to similar establishments in Dubai, London, or Paris, they are still reasonable. The average bill is around 150 euros per person. As a man at a nearby table once said: “Is that the total bill? Yesterday, I paid the same just for tips” (overheard that he meant Cipriani).
