Dear friends, Mani in Pasta in the Porta Venezia area was a real find for me. We had a family outing to the natural history museum, and afterwards, we decided to have lunch somewhere nearby but off the beaten path. It was a challenging task, so keep in mind this great combo that is just 10 minutes’ walk apart.
Here’s what I recommend: make an online reservation, come here for Saturday lunch (not many people), sit inside (it’s one of the few pizzerias with a genuinely charming interior), and order a few pizzas and different appetizers to share.
The pizza at Mani in Pasta is so delicious. You can choose from the menu or create your own, as they offer a whole list of top-quality additional ingredients. My favorites are friarielli (broccoli rabe) with sausage or anchovies with pumpkin flowers.
In addition to pizza, the menu includes focaccia with various toppings, as well as Italian classics of appetizers and cold cuts. The prosciutto (very refined, without that distinct smell) with premium figs simply won me over and all the other dishes we tried passed our strict scrutiny.
The average bill per person is around 30 euros, including pizza, appetizers, and wine.
I suspect that in the evening, this place transforms into a bustling aperitif spot, but I’ll tell you about it personally once I check it out!
