Il Verzeratt. Secret aperitivo spot or drink like a local.

When visiting Milan and exploring the city center, you might wonder if there are any places for aperitivo around the Duomo that aren't overly touristy. Well, let me tell you, there definitely are, you just haven't discovered them yet. And here is my absolute favorite spot that you'll understand why.

Dear friends, just a quick 10-minute walk from the Duomo and Piazza San Babila, near Statale University, you’ll find a whole different vibe: a calm, local, and contented atmosphere. In the heart of this lively neighborhood, on the charming Via Osti, stands Il Verzeratt, one of Milan’s most photogenic fruit kiosks. During the day, they offer the freshest vegetables, fruits, and ravioli, and in the evening, they set up folding tables, bringing a small piazza to life. If you’re after an authentic Italian aperitivo experience, away from the tourist crowds, with relaxed and friendly service, this is the place to be. It’s vibrant, unpretentious, and absolutely delightful!

Make sure to try their signature Verzeratt gin tonic — it’s truly enchanting. Even the owner of the nearby bar was spotted drinking! Alongside your drink, you can order a platter of sliced cheeses and cured meats, all fresh as sourced and sold right there.

And the best part? The prices are pleasantly affordable, with a generously sized drink costing only 8 euros.
