Dear friends, if you want something trendy and not like the typical one in Milan, I have good news for you. The famous restaurant holding Big Mamma Group has finally reached the city!
So, a little over a week ago, Gloria Osteria opened in the Brera neighborhood. What you immediately notice: the service is absolutely not Italian style. Lots of staff, friendly and super attentive service, several hostesses at the entrance – it feels like you’ve gotten into the perfect version of Parisian restaurants.
The next trump card is the interior, which is unique for Milan. Bright, kitschy and very chic, in addition to pleasant background music. Some people will find it too much, but, in my opinion, we clearly missed such a place. And probably that’s why there is almost full seating in the huge lounge, the crowd is interesting and very different, so there is also a space for “people watching”.
You can rightly ask if there are nuances. Well there are. The menu is small and totally French (although there is pasta), not everyone will like it. For example I don’t eat oysters and generally like simple dishes, so I couldn’t choose a starter. I limited myself to the main course: steak with black truffle and mashed potatoes, and was very satisfied. In general, pay attention to the meat, we tried different variations and they passed our inspection.
There is a large cocktail list and champagne selection. We weren’t satisfied with the wine by the glass, so it’s better to choose by the bottle.
Gloria is suitable for both a date and a friendly outing, especially if the key point for you the big city vibe. I think it’s also a cool place for a fun birthday party. The average bill is 80 euros. You can only book online and tables are only available for a maximum of 4 persons. If you have more people – write in a note to the reservation.
And another thing I noticed: the bill can be paid by qr-code without waiting for the waiter. And just the other day I was explained that in Italy such a practice is impossible because of local laws. And I say – everything is possible, the main thing is to think out of the box!
