Bagno Dalmazia: This is an ideal spot for a casual, barefoot lunch on the beach. With its laid-back atmosphere, attentive service, delicious cuisine, and charming dolce vita ambiance, it’s a place that embodies balance. You can find more details here.
Osteria del mare: This is a local gem and a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience the essence of the area. It’s great for family meals or catching up with friends both for lunch and dinner. The ‘old money’ crowd here truly reflects the meaning of Bella Italia.
Terrazza Pesce Baracca (definitely choose a table upstairs): This is a great spot to enjoy an aperitif or a relaxed dinner while watching the sunset. It tends to attract a younger crowd, and don’t expect that much from the service and music. But the experience of savoring a tuna carpaccio and a glass of wine as the sun dips into the sea is one of the moments that stay in memory, if not forever, then for a long time. To avoid the weekend rush, try visiting on a weekday.
Al Bocconcino: Yet another local institution. Unlike most restaurants in Forte, it offers a simple ambiance and reasonable prices without compromising on the quality of the food and crowd. The cuisine is amazingly Mediterranean, and the pizza/house wine combination is a safe bet. Its location in the heart of Forte makes it especially convenient if you’re not beach-bound for the day. It’s a good choice for an early lunch or a fallback option for a simple dinner.
Hotel Principe rooftop. An elegant panoramic terrace of this five-star hotel is home to a Michelin-starred restaurant and a bar perfect for a refined aperitif. This bar is an ideal hideaway for those who prefer tranquility over crowds, offering a distinct experience from traditional local venues. Dressing up is encouraged, making it also a spot for a date. Yes, it’s on the expensive side, but “budget-friendly” and Forte are rarely synonymous! A bonus worth noting: if you’re not in the mood to explore, the bar also serves dinner, including a Chianina beef burger that’s been inspected multiple times.
