Horto. Breakfast with a view near La Scala Theater.

If you're in the mood for something out of the ordinary on a sunny Milan morning, make your way to the Horto restaurant for a coffee and brioche.

Dear friends, imagine this, a Mediterranean garden ambiance on a sweeping terrace, just a minute away from the La Scala theater. With lounge music flowing, a vista over Milan’s rooftops, and even a glimpse of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele – it all comes together to offer a vacation-like vibe. There’s no better way to kick off your day!

Chances are, it’ll be just you there; this spot is still a well-kept secret. They dish out freshly squeezed juices, coffee, and an assortment of pastries for breakfast. And if you’re feeling a bit cheeky, why not a glass of sparkling wine?

It’s an idyllic setting for a romantic rendezvous. I can’t recall the exact tab, but it’s certainly above the average.

They serve breakfast from 8:30 to 11:00, and for your convenience, there’s also online booking available.

A word to the wise: I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for other meals just yet, as they still need to fine-tune the details.
