Dalmazia, a beach club restaurant, nestles in the prestigious district of Forte dei Marmi – Roma Imperiale and belongs to one of the most luxurious hotels of the town – Principe. While their beach doesn’t notably stand out from its neighbors, except for its price, I’d argue it’s not especially worth renting a cabin unless you’re a guest at Principe.
However, dining at their restaurant, all-time favorite lunch spot of our team, is indisputably a must-do! Boasting the friendliest, most upbeat, and attentive staff throughout Versilia, they offer a fantastic and varied menu with aesthetically pleasing presentations. The surroundings are charming, with traditional Mediterranean landscaping and herb gardens, comfortable canopies and sofas, accompanied by soothing lounge music. Let me add: we were so enchanted with atmosphere that luxuriating over lunches usually ended up for two hours. Make sure to book a table in advance during high-season.
Everything on the menu is a delight. I’d suggest trying the tasting menu, featuring a mini version of my favorite pizza with anchovies and pumpkin flowers (a flavor to recall during long winter evenings), tuna tartare and a selection of seafood appetizers to cater to all preferences. Such a meal, inclusive of water and a glass of an ice-cold Vermentino , will cost about 60 euros per person. Ordering individual dishes may be costlier. Meat tataki is totally worth trying if you are not convinced with the set menu.
Not to be missed – Dalmazia is also the perfect place for people-watching: vibrant Italian women adorned with bold jewelry, sun-bathed Americans, and large Eastern families fresh from a yacht trip.
Believe me, this is a place where you truly feel and live Dolce Vita. Enjoy!
